THE REGIONAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY ADDS
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
TO OUR FAMILY OF BUSINESS RESOURCE ORGANIZATIONS

The Gloucester Township Chamber held its first monthly meeting on October 22 nd and immediately began adding new members and a strong local presence for businesses in that community.

Individuals from the Gloucester Township business community and the town’s Economic Development Corporation have been working with Chamber President Art Campbell, Board Chairman David Bannett, and Board Member Eugene Lawrence to pave the way for the new organization.

An Advisory Board of Charter Members has been organized under the leadership of its Chairman, Jack Lihvarcik of Consumers New Jersey Water Company. (Please see the inside for the entire Advisory Board and the list of Charter Members)

The first evening meeting was held at Ron Jaworski’s Valleybrook Golf Club and attended by over 30 Gloucester Township businesses and the support staff from Cherry Hill Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event was sponsored by Consumers New Jersey Water Company (soon to be re-named Aqua New Jersey, Inc.) and Valleybrook Golf Club.

Speakers Mr. Lou Bezich, a strategic consultant for the township, and State Assemblyman-Elect David Maier both praised the formation of the group as an independent voice for businesses in a township that is experiencing significant growth in both the near term and the forseeable future. Strong communication links between the Township and its business community will set the stage for a positive working relationship for mutual benefit.

At that first meeting, the benefits of bringing both business groups together were highlighted by David Bannett, Art Campbell and Jack Lihvarcik.

The second meeting was held during the stormy evening of November 17 th and 25 brave souls, (Hurricane notwithstanding) met again at Ron Jaworski’s Valleybrook Golf Club – this time hosted personally by Ron and his lovely wife Liz, who were among the first to join the new Chamber.

The new Gloucester Township Chamber will meet monthly at member facilities, and will also host economic development meetings on a periodic basis. The next monthly meeting will be held at Stained Glass Eatery on the Black Horse Pike in Blackwood on January 29 th, 2004.

The first 50 Gloucester Township businesses to join will be listed as Charter Members and will receive special recognition plaques with the new organization logo.
